What’s New for the 2022 Mercedes-AMG® SL?
While the SL has been a part of the Mercedes-Benz lineup for years, the new 2022 AMG® SL takes things up a notch by introducing a new generation. More than that, it has been redesigned with a completely new architecture. This is a coupe-like convertible with a prestigious, aerodynamic profile. The new-look shows off a shark-style nose with a downturned grille. The lower-front fascia has an aggressive look with strong, molded air vents and a thin, black accent bar stretching between the vents. The headlights are stunning with their triangular, stretched shape and upper LED light bar. The hardtop standard in the 2021 SL has been exchanged for a soft-top design in the 2022 model year. The rear is beautifully rounded and boasts triangular taillights and a quad exhaust system.
The 2022 Mercedes-AMG® SL can now accommodate four passengers inside the open-air cabin. The front seats are bolstered with added cushioning and massaging functionality. You will find an 11.9-inch central display screen with aeronautical-themed air vents on the curved dashboard. The leather material is combined with carbon-fiber and black accents. This model’s many features include the MBUX infotainment system, voice commands, numerous assistive driver’s technologies, a premium sound system, a navigation system, wireless technologies, a digital driver’s display panel, and a wide range of additional features.
There are two AMG® SL versions available for the 2022 model year. Both are outfitted with a V8, twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine, combined with a nine-speed auto transmission. 4MATIC® all-wheel drive is standard for both versions. However, the SL 55 benefits from 469 horsepower, and the SL 53 receives 577 horsepower from the engine.
