2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class vs 2020 Volvo S90

Serving Milwaukee, WI

In 2017, two luxury sedans were introduced by premium and competing automakers. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a spacious sedan that is appropriately outfitted with exquisite finishes and elite technologies. The Volvo S90 takes a different approach to styling and overall performance. Which of these executive sedans is a suitable match for your expectations and intended purposes?

Both of these models exude confidence and sophistication with their individualized style. The 2020 E-Class from Mercedes-Benz has multi-elemental LED headlights with a teardrop shape and two light ribbons for added character. The elegant hood has three modest personality lines that swoop down toward the chrome-accented grille. Two bars run horizontally through this grille, and they support the automaker’s recognizable logo. The long lines that run down the sides trend slightly closer together as they approach the rear. The E-Class’s rear shows off stacked light bars in the tail lamps. In comparison, the 2020 Volvo S90 has a low-profile façade. While the hood has a modest curve and subtle personality lines, its stretched look and the horizontal lines that pass through the sides retain their level stance.

The interior of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a balanced combination of sophistication and technologies. The premium leather seats have bolstered sides and excellent accent stitching. The glossy center console has the MMI Touch controller, gear functions, and a wireless charging station. This console flawlessly rolls into the center stack, decorated with beautiful accent materials and round air vents. The driver’s 12.3-inch instrumentation screen is intimately linked to the 12.3-inch infotainment system screen mounted at the top of the center stack. This car may come with a heated steering wheel, a navigation system, a premium audio system, and other equipment. The S90 for 2020, on the other hand, has a traditional center stack characterized by air vents flanking the multimedia display screen. This feature gives you control over the Bluetooth® 1 tech, the navigation system, the sound system, and more. The interface for the climate management system is placed below the display screen.

The E-Class from Mercedes-Benz is available with your choice of several powertrains. The base engine is a turbo I-4, 2.0-liter gas engine. Another option is the 3.0-liter, bi-turbo V6 engine that produces 362 horsepower. Both of these powertrains are available with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. Also, the E-Class’s AMG® line gives you more powerful engine options. The 2020 S90 comes with only one powertrain option. This is a 316-horsepower engine that is tied to the all-wheel-drive and other mechanical gear.
