2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE vs 2020 Audi Q7

Serving Milwaukee, WI

During the 2016 model year, Mercedes-Benz introduced the GLE SUV. The GLE, however, was simply a new name for the Mercedes-Benz ML. The ML debuted in 1998 and has crossed over several impressive generational updates and a few modern facelifts. The Audi Q7 is a direct competitor to the GLE. It was released in 2005, and its most recent facelift occurred during the 2019 model year. In addition to being in the same auto class, these two popular models have a comparable base MSRP. However, their similarities end there. Is the GLE or the Q7 a better fit for you?

Throughout the 2020 GLE’s exterior, you can appreciate its union of sportiness and sophistication. At the same time, it is both modern and confident. These impressive traits are pulled together through a stardust grille that sits over a defined lower fascia. The multi-elemental headlamps show off dual light bars that wrap across the tops and down the sides of the lamps. The accent lines that flow across the sides and hood are brought to life by a bold wheel design, crisp fender definition, raised roof rails, triangular taillights, and dual exhaust pipes that are mounted in a chrome bar at the rear. The 2020 Audi Q7, on the other hand, stands upright with a thick front end and modest curves over the roof and hood. The tall grille spans across the majority of the front end, and narrow headlights and small air vents accompany it. A pinstripe accent line runs through the top of the side panels, and a sharp definition is found at the bottom of these panels.

The GLE for 2020 is a three-row vehicle, and the rear row is easily accessible via a power-folding second row. While the interior is undeniably luxurious with your choice of several leather colors and wood accent pieces, it is also high-tech. Dual 12.3-inch digital screens are connected as they flow across the left and central areas of the dashboard. Equipment in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE includes augmented reality with the navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, assistive safety tech, a personal assistant, and more. Inside the 2020 Q7, on the other hand, you will find three rows with a manual folding function for the second row. The dashboard includes a digital driver’s gauge that is separated from the multimedia display screen. This second screen sits on another screen that controls the climate management equipment.

The entry-level powertrain for the 2020 GLE is a turbo I-4, 2.0-liter engine that can produce 255 horsepower, and it is available with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive in some trims. Two more powerful engines are available in higher trim levels. One of these is a 3.0-liter, I-6 EQ Boost engine that produces 362 horsepower. The top powertrain is a 4.8-liter, V8 bi-turbo gas engine that delivers 483 horsepower. The 2020 Audi Q7 is offered with two powertrains. The base option is a TFSI 2.0-liter engine that gives you 248 horsepower. You can also enjoy 335 horsepower from a TFSI 3.0-liter, V6 powertrain.
