2023 Mercedes-Benz S-Class vs 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Serving Milwaukee, WI

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan stands at the pinnacle of luxury and delivers the highest level of performance, technology, and sophistication. For 2022 and 2023, the S-Class is the automaker’s flagship sedan. When you compare the 2023 model year to its predecessor, you will find several exciting improvements.

Performance

In 2022, the S-Class was available in the S 500 and S 580 trims, and their powertrains are unchanged stepping into the 2023 model year. The S 500 receives 429 horsepower from an inline-six, turbo 3.0-liter engine, and the S 580 has a 496-horsepower, turbo 4.0-liter, V8 engine. The Mercedes-Benz S 580e is introduced as a new trim level for 2023 and comes with a plug-in hybrid system. This engine pairs an electric motor with a V6 engine to create 510 combined horsepower. With a fast charger, the battery can be replenished up to 80% in only 20 minutes. All three trims have standard all-wheel drive and an automatic nine-speed transmission.

Appearance

The only design differences between the 2022 and 2023 S-Class are the introduction of new interior and exterior colors in 2023. The ground-hugging, sleek look of the S-Class remains the same, and it is enhanced with a steeply raked trunk lid, an elegant hood, and decadent accents across the otherwise smooth sides. The wide grille features three chrome accent bars, and this bar theme continues across the lower air intakes. A hood ornament and elegant LED headlights complete the look.

Features

The S-Class is among the most well-equipped sedans available in the Mercedes-Benz line today, and there are no changes to its features between 2022 and 2023. Some of the many advanced features that you may have access to on the road are soft-close doors, a premium sound system with 30 speakers, a heated steering wheel, premium leather upholstery, heated seats with memory settings for both rows, massaging front and rear seats, front and rear wireless charging pads, a rear entertainment system, automated parking, a front dashcam, eight USB-C ports, an extensive selection of assistive safety technologies and many other features.
