The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE is available in six trims: GLE 350, GLE 350 4MATIC, GLE 450 4MATIC, AMG GLE 53, GLE 580 4MATIC, and AMG GLE 63 S. Depending on the trim level, the new GLE offers 19-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, 20-inch AMG twin five-spoke wheels, 21-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels, or 22-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels. LED intelligent headlights with ultra-wide-beam technology, a power tilt/sliding panorama roof, and power-folding side mirrors with logo projectors are standard across all models.
The AMG trims incorporate vertical radiator grille slats, flared wheel arches, and side skirts, while the GLE 450 4MATIC and higher models offer optional illuminated running boards.
Engine
The lower GLE trims feature a 2.0-liter I-4 turbo or 3.0-liter I-6 turbo engine that produces 255 to 375 horsepower and 295 to 369 pound-feet of torque. The GLE 580 4MATIC features a 4.0-liter V-8 biturbo engine that delivers 510 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The AMG models offer a 3.0-liter I-6 turbo or 4.0-liter V-8 biturbo engine that generates 429 to 603 horsepower and 413 to 627 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The GLE 350 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, while the GLE 450 4MATIC accomplishes this in 5.3 seconds. The GLE 580 4MATIC and AMG GLE 63 S reduce this time to 4.9 and 4.3 seconds, respectively. The GLE 450 4MATIC and higher trims feature an AIRMATIC suspension with an adaptive damping system. The AMG GLE 63 S adds active roll stabilization for enhanced cornering. All non-AMG models utilize a 9G-TRONIC automatic nine-speed transmission, while AMG variants use a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT. When properly equipped, all GLE models can tow up to 7,700 pounds.
Interior
All GLE models feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia display. The MBUX system offers natural language voice control, while the MBUX Interior Assistant provides gesture control capability, allowing for intuitive interaction with vehicle functions. Depending on the trim, the GLE interior features MB-TEX or leather upholstery, while AMG models have sport seats. Heated and ventilated front seats with memory function are standard, and higher trims offer additional options like five-zone automatic climate control and multi-contour seats with massage functionality. The 64-color ambient lighting system adds a customizable, luxurious touch to the cabin, elevating the overall experience.
Safety Features
The new GLE offers several safety technologies, including active brake assist with cross-traffic alert, the PRE-SAFE and PRE-SAFE PLUS systems, DISTRONIC active distance assist with adaptive cruise control and stop-and-go capability, and active steering assist with lane change assist. The GLE 450 4MATIC and higher trims include a 360-degree camera system, enhancing visibility and safety during parking maneuvers. Other features include route-based speed adaptation, car-to-X communication, attention assist, and active lane-keeping systems to ensure driver and passenger safety.
