Service & Maintenance

Battery upkeep is easy and typically requires fewer scheduled maintenance visits. Owning an all-electric Mercedes-Benz means you get complementary comprehensive coverage with your first scheduled maintenance at 2 years or 20,000 miles.

Cost & Savings

Yes, there are federal tax credits for buying electric. Consult your tax advisor for any state or local incentives for purchasing electric vehicles.

Many states offer their own incentives. Check your states local incentives by visiting, https://afdc.energy.gov/laws/state.

Electricity for home charging in the U.S. costs about 12 cents per kWh, meaning if you drive 15,000 miles per year, you'll spend around $540 on charging. In comparison, a year of gas can cost about $1,400—and gas prices fluctuate, while electricity remains more stable. To check electricity rates in your state, visit the Energy Information Administration website. Plus, all new Mercedes-Benz EV customers get 2 years of free, unlimited 30-minute charging sessions through Electrify America, making long-distance travel virtually free.

Charging

There are multiple ways to start a charging session:

  • Plug & Charge (at Electrify America stations) – Just plug in your activated vehicle, and charging starts automatically.
  • RFID Card – Tap your card to begin charging.
  • Mercedes me Charge (MMC) App – Start charging remotely from your phone.
  • Vehicle Navigation System – Initiate charging directly from your car’s system.
  • Your dealer will ensure your vehicle is activated with Mercedes me Charge, so it’s ready to go.

Battery

No, you don’t need to drain the battery before charging. Unlike some electronics, lithium-ion batteries have no "memory effect." This means they don’t need to be fully drained or fully charged to maintain their lifespan. Charge whenever it's convenient—your battery’s life won’t be affected.
