2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Milwaukee, WI

Comfy, quiet, and practical, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE knows how to check all the right boxes. While it’s also available as a coupe, we’re sticking to the SUV trims for this rundown.

Trim Levels of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE

GLE 350 SUV

This is the most down-to-earth GLE you can get. It’s powered by a 255-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with a mild hybrid setup. It comes with five seats by default, but if you need to carry a few extra people, there’s an optional third row that opens up space for seven.

Tech-wise, the GLE sets you up with two easy-to-use 12.3-inch screens that stretch across the dash. For maximum comfort, splurge on the Pinnacle trim, which adds a premium Burmester audio system, ventilated front seats with massage, a head-up display, heated and cooled front cupholders, and even an in-cabin fragrance diffuser.

GLE 350 4MATIC SUV

The previous trim was rear-wheel drive. This one is all-wheel drive, which means better grip and confidence whether you’re facing bad weather or rough roads.

GLE 450 4MATIC SUV

This trim ditches the inline-four engine in favor of a 3.0-liter inline-six, so you’re getting a solid bump in power (375 horsepower now) and a quicker zero-to-sixty time of 5.3 seconds. Another standout feature you’ll find here (but in the GLE 350 models) is the AIRMATIC suspension. With the push of a button, you can raise the ride height for extra ground clearance or lower the rear end to make loading cargo easier.

GLE 450e 4MATIC SUV

The GLE 450e 4MATIC is the plug-in hybrid in the lineup. It can drive up to 49 miles on electric power alone, which is plenty for daily errands or commuting. Plug it into a compatible fast charger, and it’ll go from 10 to 80% in about 20 minutes.

GLE 580 4MATIC SUV

This trim comes with a big biturbo V8 that delivers 510 horsepower, 538 lb-ft of torque, and a zero-to-sixty time of just 4.3 seconds. As a top-spec model, it also comes well-stocked: self-leveling AIRMATIC suspension, ventilated front seats, a Burmester surround sound system, Dolby Atmos with sound personalization, and built-in music streaming.

AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ SUV

As the name suggests, this one’s been through the AMG workshop. Highlights include a 429-horsepower AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter inline-six, an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed gearbox, high-performance tires, and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.

AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ SUV

The top-of-the-line AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ SUV packs serious hardware: a handcrafted 603-horsepower AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, 285 mm front and 325 mm rear high-performance tires, an AMG high-performance braking system with red calipers, plus all the luxury features you could want in a high-end SUV.
