The Mercedes-AMG® SL 63 Roadster is built around a handcrafted AMG® 4.0-liter V8 biturbo that produces 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. With the standard RACESTART® launch function and AMG® Performance 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, it reaches 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds, when properly equipped. AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL uses hydraulic active roll stabilization to keep the body flat through corners, while an electronic limited-slip differential maximizes grip out of a tight bend. Both models keep the SL true to its roadster roots with a three-layer fabric soft top that raises or lowers in seconds, plus 2+2 seating for occasional rear passengers. The AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® MCT nine-speed transmission and adjustable drive programs let the SL relax into a smooth cruiser for a summer evening along Lake Michigan, then sharpen for a spirited run on a winding country road.
