The 2026 AMG® SL Roadster spans 416 to 805 horsepower across four distinct drivetrains. The SL 43 is rear-wheel drive; the V8 models add AMG® Performance 4MATIC®. Compare the powertrains below, then view our SL Roadster inventory.

The SL 43 opens the lineup with a handcrafted AMG® 2.0-liter turbo and an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger drawn from Formula 1®. A small electric motor spins the turbo instantly, so power builds without lag. It produces 416 horsepower and 369 lb-ft, drives the rear wheels, and reaches 60 mph in about 4.6 seconds, when properly equipped. For a lighter, more agile SL, this is the efficient entry point, and full figures are on the AMG® SL 43 page at Mercedes-Benz USA.

Stepping up brings the handcrafted AMG® 4.0-liter V8 biturbo and standard AMG® Performance 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. The SL 55 makes 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft and reaches 60 mph in about 3.8 seconds, while the SL 63 raises output to 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft for a 3.5-second run, when properly equipped. All-wheel drive means this V8 thrust stays usable on damp or cool Wisconsin roads rather than overwhelming the rear tires.

At the top, the SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE pairs the V8 with a 150 kW rear-axle electric motor and a 6.1 kWh high-performance battery for a combined 805 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft. With AMG® Performance 4MATIC®, it reaches 60 mph in about 2.8 seconds, when properly equipped. You can review the official numbers on the SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE page.
Every SL routes power through an AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® MCT nine-speed transmission and offers adjustable AMG® drive programs, plus available rear-axle steering for sharper low-speed agility and steadier high-speed composure. The result is a roadster that adapts from a relaxed Lake Michigan cruise to a focused back-road drive. For the complete breakdown, see our 2026 SL Roadster research hub, then check current SL Roadster availability.
Whichever SL you choose, the same AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® MCT transmission and chassis electronics deliver the immediate, connected response that defines the badge. The real decision is how much power and all-weather traction you want, from the nimble rear-drive SL 43 to the 805-horsepower SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE, and our team can help you weigh that against your budget and how often you will drive in cool Wisconsin weather.
