What’s New for 2026

The 2026 GLS carries forward the mild hybrid drive system across all models, integrating an electric assist layer into the 3.0L inline-6 and V8 powertrains without requiring a plug. The result is a more responsive torque curve from low RPM, with the GLS 450 developing peak torque at 1,800 rpm. Standard AIRMATIC® air suspension with Adaptive Damping System (ADS) is now the baseline setup on the GLS 450 4MATIC®, eliminating the need to option into adaptive ride height. The Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 moves to AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, a more performance-focused architecture than the prior generation. MBUX Augmented Video for Navigation, available Head-Up Display technology, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now part of the GLS technology story. The Burmester 13-speaker audio system is included at no added cost on the GLS 450, previously a standalone package item.
